Why Boy Sandwich?

I'm starting a Blog! Thanks to those of you who have encouraged me to do this! I feel a little apprehensive as I begin, but I'm excited too. For my first post, I want to expound a little on how the title of this blog came to be. At Thanksgiving dinner (I know, it's taken me quite a while to drum up the determination to enter the blogosphere) we were sitting around the table with my family discussing possible names for My Blog. As the adults discussed this very important topic, our boys looked around and realized that we were pretty much sitting boy-girl-boy all around the table. They informed my mom, sisters, and myself that we were in "boy sandwiches." Then they mentioned that I am always in one, since I'm the only "girl" in our house. It wasn't until a few days later that I recalled that discussion and with a "light bulb" moment, realized that I had the name for my blog!

Just as a warning to all readers--the title is a major indicator of what this blog is going to be about. I don't intend for this to be a bragging blog about my kids, but I do intend to document a lot of what they say and do for the purpose of communicating that to James' and my extended families who all live many miles away from us. I'm excited for the chance to do this bit of "journaling" in a semi-public arena for that purpose, and I guess if you get bored reading about my kids its easy to click on the "x!"
