George is so funny. He really likes to wear either jeans or his shorts. When those are both dirty he will wear sweats, but he doesn't like to. He's different from all his brothers in that regard. Often if I try to get him to wear some of his cute sweat pants he will say, "But then everyone will see me and laugh at me!" I don't really get where he got this from--its a bit disconcerting. The other day though, he dressed like Puss in Boots (see below photo) and he wouldn't get out of it even when he and I went to the school, a rehearsal, the library, the store, and a few other errands that day. He didn't seem concerned on this day that "everyone will see me" which they did--much more than usual--and they also smiled/laughed/stared at the cute sight--a small child wearing over-sized cowboy boots (they go up to just below the knee, which makes going up and down stairs quite a challenge) and hat.

The other day George and I were driving and had a great conversation. He had been telling me about different scenes from Narnia (the boys watched it the other day) and then was quiet and said, "The bad guys tied Asland up. They hurt him." We had a conversation about how Aslan represents Jesus (on simple terms) and how they both could have stopped the bad guys but they let them because they wanted to help others (Edmund in Aslan's case, us in the Savior's). Then I really emphasized the whole resurrection scene. I like conversations like this with this age--they really listen and you can just see their brains thinking hard.
A few days after that I told George that his babysitter for the night was my violin student Dazlyn. He laughed and made a funny face and said, "Asland is our babysitter??" :-) Along the Narnia lines--George is very sure that Mr Tumnus ("Mr. Thomas") is a "talking moose." How do you think C.S. would feel about that?
One of my biggest challenges is keeping George fed. He is always hungry. Growing I guess!
George loves primary and his Sunbeams class. The other day I heard him walking around the house singing the "hello" song. In our primary they teach different ways of saying hello, so he was singing, "Bonjour, bonjour, bonjour, bonjour, we welcome you today!" It was very sweet.
The other day James asked George to list the superheroes powers. He kept his responses to the bare minimum and also kept a poker face. It was hilarious.
Here is their conversation:
J "George, what's Superman's power?"
G "Lazer Eyes."
J "What's Batman's power?"
G "Batarangs."
J "What's Spiderman's power?"
G "Webs.""
J "What's Hulk's power?"
G "Smash."
J "What's Captain America's power?"
G "Shield."
J "What's Captain Canada's power?"
G "???"
J "What's Thor's power?"
G "Hammer."
(I tried to jump in with "What's Ice Man's power? (I meant to say Mr. Freeze)."
G "Ice."
James switched tactics here:
J "What's Mom and Dad's power?"
G "Kiss."
J "What's Jesus' power?"
G "Heal."
A man of few words who cuts to the chase!

I just had a great half hour catching up on your posts Rach! It is so fun following each boy's journey while following your journey as their mom. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy life to share!
