Beautiful tulips are a start
Owen also taught the boys how to make roses out of duct tape--more beauty!
One day the 3 youngest were just dying to plant a seed. They planted peas, beans, and lettuce. I planted some cilantro in my pot, for good measure. These plants make me very happy.

George and I had a perfect little sledding party one morning this past week--no wind, bright sunshine, and no one else to compete with on the sledding hill. He's such a fun little sledding buddy!
More on George:
George loves to play chess. To the point that he wants to play several times a day. Fact: George doesn't play by any rules other than his own. You might be playing along, feeling like this is going to be a normal chess game, when out of the blue, George will swoop down upon you with any of pieces and swipe you away with a vigorous flick of the wrist. He loves the element of surprise, and he loves to laugh wickedly as he wipes you (usually undeservedly) off the board. He doesn't mind if you wipe out his guys either--and I do admit to "cheating" the normal rules a few times myself, when no one but me and George are around--to gain back a little self-respect. I think that his favourite thing about the chess game is that it is a Lord of the Rings set, and he loves to play with the characters. He informed me that "When those guys get out you can play with them Mom!" Meaning, off to the side of the game. Sometimes I get tired of these chess games with no rules. I have to admit that I tried to hide the LOR chess set a few times this past week...is that bad of me?
Cute word mix up: George says "Suvvy" instead of "Fuzzy." It's so cute.
Cute thing he said last week in sacrament--kinda loudly: "Jesus is magic!" (Me: "Well, you mean powerful, right?") "But he can fly Mom! And walk on water!" (Me: "Yeah, I guess that is pretty magical.")
He was thrilled when we went to swim at the YMCA with Owen's cub group. He was crazy on the slide--he has no qualms about letting himself sink in the water a little after coming down and it gave me a scare a couple of times, but he holds his breath really well and always comes up with a huge smile on his face. At one point, I think he was even doing the backstroke. What a crazy kid--he absolutely loves the water. He also loves doing anything his big brothers are up to--he is asking when he gets to do a science fair project. :-) We sure love this little redhead, even when he's demanding things of us (which is almost every minute). He keeps us on our toes!

Ha ha - yes, I think George's logic is pretty sound about Jesus' magical powers. Those chess games seem pretty challenging, I am sure I would have hidden the board a long time ago!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun stories abut Georgie and your life with him! I love your plants--I have yellow tulips right here in front of me (not from our yard yet). Hooray for spring!
