Tommy's cutes are overflowing lately, so I thought I'd get some of them down before I forget. Tommy is great to have a conversation with. You just never know where the conversation will lead, but you do know that you will probably get the joy of seeing him laugh and smile during it, and most likely he will tell you a joke or two.
Here are some snippets of conversations I've had with him lately:
R--Tommy, I need you to hurry down and help me with this!
T--(singing a song and taking his time coming down the stairs)Okay, as soon as I get this song outta my bwain!
T--Mommy, yet's play "I'm thinkin' of an animal and I'll go first, k?"
R--Okay.
T--I'm finkin of somefin starts with a D.
(and these are the clues I was given)--
--it's man-made (or woman-made, as T sometimes says)
--it's only in Utah
--it lives by a tree
--it's an animal that barks, jumps, and growls
--ashkee it only growls
(in response to my guesses-I picked all the usual ones)
--jaguar is close
--cheetahs don't jump
--It's close to a sea horse
--It's a SEA LION!!
Wow, never woulda guessed, did you??
At the playground, climbing with the use of a chain:
T--Mom! I'm hiking the Y!
R--Wow, that's exciting! What do you see?
T--I see other Hiker-Y-ers!!
T--Mom, why don't Will and Ry ever have to have a time out?
(can't remember what I said to this--something about them getting older and being able to control themselves).
Early in the morning:
R--Thanks for making your bed so quickly when I asked you to!
T--That makes your day start out better, wight Mom?"
R--Tommy, are you sad we're moving? Will you miss our house and yard and our friends?
T--(with a serious look on his face)Yeah, and our beds...(then we looked sideways at each other and burst out laughing.)
Tommy and his friend Josh were at stay and play and I was right beside them at the snack table. Tommy was so excited about snack and sitting by Josh, he couldn't contain himself. He raised up a little on his elbows and said, "Shake your bootay bootay" (while doing it of course), and without skipping a beat Josh echoed him perfectly--along with the action. It was very funny.
So adorable. You always remember the cutest moments. How do you do it!! And you guys are moving?! Where?
