My blog titles are getting more hum-drum by the month! I guess this really is more of a travel log through time as it were...life in our house does keep happening!
Here are some things that have occurred:
| This one, in spite of my repeated instructions to stop growing up, insisted on turning 6. He now skates faster than me, is trying to find letters and numbers everywhere, is reading a bit, wrestling harder with his brothers, wanting to stay up later, and just plain growing up too fast. "You stop that George!!" |

| For his b-day "cake" we made Pokemon cookies instead. I was pretty proud of my artistic abilities...haha |
| George got more knights and horses and dragons for his birthday (thank you grandparents!) and wanted to draw one here. |
| Our friends the Lebaron family (they have 4 boys) invited us over to join them for some hockey on the frozen pond behind their house. People who live on ponds here prepare the ice, shovel it, and even go to the extent of putting benches and nets down on it. Amazing! |
| William got his Learner's Permit, and is officially Behind The Wheel. Aaaaaaaaaaa... |
| This boy is counting the days until he turns 12--we went to his Priesthood Preview last week. He is serious about becoming a Deacon. Owen also participated in a 8X400 relay last week and his team (from school) took 2nd! |
| We bought a West Edmonton Mall annual family pass for the boys for their Christmas present and have been loving that decision. This was a fun date day with the two little guys at Galaxyland. |
| After that we went to Marine Life and saw the penguins, sharks, and sting-rays. Then we saw a great sea lion show. The boys and I were quite impressed! |
| This is what the older ones did while we were staying warm and entertained in the mall--Winter Camp! It was Owen's first overnighter in the winter. I felt better knowing his older brothers were with him, for sure! He loved it! |
| This FHE plan is working really well for us right now. Thought I would document it for posterity's sake. I love having the boys really involved in teaching the Gospel. |
| I learned to crochet--from my lovely niece Emma! My goal was a headband for wintery weather. This was one attempt--it ended up looking suspiciously like a boa constrictor... |
| Another attempt--it is not meant to be an "infinity scarf." oops! |
| Third time's the charm! And I even learned how to make the flowers on You Tube! They are the simplest imaginable flowers, but still! I couldn't believe such things could come from my fingertips. There is hope! |
Ryrie also has now overcome the book and the test to get his Learner's! This is when having twins really starts to get crazy! These boys also have been attending church dances and actually reported that they each asked three unknown girls to dance last weekend! Aaaaa! |
| Georgie's painstaking valentines for his classmates. Each had a pokemon character starting with the same letter of the alphabet as the friend's name. This was a week-long project, and once again, I honed my pencil-sketching abilities.... |
Love these "hum-drum travel logs" so much! The pictures and your loving comments are just what grandparents live for! BTW, did you read the article in the February New Era by Royce Kimmons about asking girls to dance? Sounds like the twins are light years ahead and I'll bet there are some happy girls because of them.
ReplyDeleteDitto, Rachael, to your Dad's comment. I'm impressed with your creativity with the birthday cookies and head bands! Fun projects and new experiences abound in your home.
