Boys' Art

I've come across many wonderful creations from the boys lately that I'm enjoying immensely.  I thought I'd share them:

Owen drew this for me in the summer--I used it as my bookmark for Les Mis.  I feel so happy when I look at it.
Here are some quotes I loved from that book:
"The spirit is a garden"
"Unless God protects a house, they who guard it watch in vain."
"The beautiful is as useful as the useful."
"Prejudices are the real robbers; vices the real murderers."
"A dry eye goes with a dead soul"
"There are no bad herbs and no bad men--only bad cultivators."
"How illness mimics old age."
"A hundred years is youth to a church but old age to a private house.  It would seem that Man's dwelling shares the brevity of his existence and God's dwelling, His eternity."
"A girl without a doll is like a woman without a child..."
"He marched on the bench as I would say Hannibal marched on Rome."
"The glances of women are like certain seemingly peaceful but really formidable machines."
"...nothing is more dangerous than discontinued labor; it is habit lost.  A habit easy to abandon, difficult to resume."
"To form the mind of a young girl, all the nuns in the world are not equal to one mother."
"There is nothing like a convent to prepare a young girl for passions."
"...the first symptom of love in a young man is timidity, in a young woman, boldness....it is the two sexes tending to unite, and each acquiring the qualities of the other."
"Are you what is called a lucky man?  Well, you are sad every day.  Each day has its great grief or its little care...as for other men, stagnant night is upon them."
"In this world, clearly the vestibule of another, no one is happy."
"To diminish the number of the dark, to increase the number of the luminous, there is the aim...to learn to read is to kindle a fire; every syllable spelled sparkles."
"When you know and when you love you will still suffer."
"If our gold is manure, on the other hand, our manure is gold."
"...they both began to weep.  That is one of the forms of supreme happiness."
"It is nothing to die; it is horrible not to live."

I love his signature

This turkey by Tommy fascinates me.  I love the front facing view and the feet especially delight me.

Owen really wanted the classic profile with the gobbler (waddle?) for his turkey.  I like the bi-colored feathers

George did the cutest turkey with a full body, not just a head, attached.  I love it--its like a little person masquerading as a turkey.

Owen looked at a book and drew this for his brothers for their birthday.  He got a kick out of the two-headed/twin idea.  I love the forward-facing head--again, it amazes me as each of my children has more artistic talent than I ever dreamed of having.

Tommy watched Owen and came up with this.  I love the texture of the dragon scales and especially the glasses on the William Head.

Last Sunday the boys got busy decimating a large cardboard box--turning it into swords and shields.  The twins refrained from making their own, but Owen cooked these up for their birthday.

I love the "hidden G" on his chest and the balloon man in his signature.  I think he might have had help with the body shape...

I am "Cat Woman" which is why I'm dressed all in black.  See my ghostly title?

This didn't show up very well, but George has been copying names out of a big book on animals.  He started drawing pictures of some of them but got a little tired.

I love the word "Woooooolf"--it's so descriptive!
