"I Dibs!"

This is a word that is heard pretty much many times a day at our house.  When I was growing up we'd say, "I call!" and I've also heard kids here in Canada say, "I speak!" But our kids say, "I dibs!"  Things Georgie most often wants to dibs are "The red cup without the lines on it," "Owen's seat by the window," the best seat on the couch to watch a movie from, "Sitting by Mom!" The blankets from the couch for a morning read, the first try at anything we are doing.

The other day Owen asked Tommy where he thought he would go on his mission.  He promptly replied, "Taiwan, Taipei." (Dad's mission).  George, when asked the same question immediately after, said, "Down by the bay!"  His second choice of mission was "I'm the King of Yew Nork!"  We all got in the car to go to church today and it was SO hot.  He called out, "Mom!  Turn off the Hot Hair!!" George told me on a Sunday, "Mom, you know Star Wars is a Sunday movie?"  Haha, nice try buddy! He still pretty much fulfills his mission of keeping us all laughing.

We've been busy with at least one outing a day to keep these busy boys happy this summer.  We spent a fun afternoon with a couple of friends one afternoon down at the Coulee center and surrounding area.  We even tried a new hike!  It was a battle all the way with the mosquitos, even in the heat of the day, but it was worth it.  The boys were great sports and we loved being by the best bridge in the world.

Tommy--feeling brave and nervous about the snake Sophie.
