The Kid

George is called "The Kid" around here by his brothers.  Usually just when he's being referred to.  Like, "Tommy, go easy on The Kid!" or "Don't forget about the Kid!"  Its quite cute actually, since they are all still kids.

The other day I said to George, as James and I often do, "You're so cute!  How did you get that way?"  He answered, "You made me that way."  I waited in anticipation for what he would say next.  I did not expect this,"You put a magic Cute Spell on me!"  ;-)

He still gets his words up.  He loves this Newsies medley we have on a Vocal Point cd, and always requests it by asking "Put on I'm the King of Yew Nork!"  The other day I said something about Germany and he piped up, "Jeremy's mom?"

He and I like to find new freckles--he grows new ones almost daily, especially with being out in the sun--and he thought it was funny that some grew on his arms.  When you see them, you have to eat them, so that's funny and tickly too.

George likes his independence.  The other day he put on some sunscreen himself--his face was a mask for an hour or so.  At night when he knows I don't want him getting more drinks of water, he will say, "I just need to wash my hands mom!"  Then I will hear them water running and know what he's really doing in there.  He's not normally one who likes to wash his hands every five minutes right before bedtime!

I took George swimming this week.  He's too old to come into the women's change room with me and he's too little to send alone, so we went into the family change room.  He was delighted with the shower because it had one of those detachable heads on it.  He was quite content to stay in there for a very long time.
