Poor Tommy got quite the Shiner this week. He and the big boys were on the trampoline on one of the beautiful weather days we had (I love where we live for the warm days in the middle of the winter). They were racing around and as Tommy puts it, "Ryrie's head crashed into mine eye." He came inside with a giant golf-ball size goose egg on his eyebrow. :-( He really was so brave about it all--hardly any complaints after the initial impact and tears. He was a bit embarrassed to go to school and church, but no one laughed at him and I think he enjoyed the sympathy and attention a bit.
This week our beloved Saturn also got smashed into, and will now have to be replaced. Luckily no one was hurt, but we are very sad to be losing a "dear friend" as James puts it. Lots of wonderful memories in that Saturn--our first date together, long hot drives between Spanish Fork and Provo our first year of marriage, bringing all of our boys home from the hospital for the first time, making the long trek from Edmonton to Provo squashed between two car seats and oxygen tanks, navigating new cities/towns that we've lived in, traveling to conferences together, etc. We will miss you Saturn!
| This was the next day--the swelling has gone down considerably in this picture. |
| This was two days after--the bruising makes it look really bad now although the swelling is pretty much gone. |
