Georgie's Doings

George has been up to his cuteness lately, so I just wanted to pause in the summer retelling and document some of the things he's done/said lately before I forget.

"Goggle your eyes"--put your goggles on
"There's lots of crabs on them!"--said this when we were peeling potatoes with some eyes in.
"sink it!"--drain the sink
"two more times!"--says this whenever he wants to keep doing what he's doing.
"For no Reason!"--when he's telling on one of his brothers and how they hurt him.

George loves to dance.  Whenever James is helping the boys do the dishes cleanup he puts on fun music on his iphone and the boys dance.  George is super fun to watch.  He really gets into it.  The other day we were swimming as a family and he was standing up on a raft/boat thing and some music with a pretty strong beat came on.  He immediately started dancing.  Sometimes he likes me to watch and dance with him, but usually he says "Don't look at me Mom!"  Like in the car when "star wars" comes on the stuck cd (been stuck for over a year) he says to tommy, "let's dance!"  And they do light sabre moves and so forth.

Today George pulled out the Lord of the Rings chess set to play with me.  He "set up" all his bad guys and said I had to set mine up.  I don't know why I even bother setting them up properly.  There are no rules but his in this game.  This time instead of letting him totally decimate my team I started to fight back--the battles took place in mid-air--and he seemed quite satisfied with this variation.

George has taken to sleep walking. The other morning I woke up before anyone else and peeked in his room.  He wasn't there.  Searched the house for him three times...started to panic. Front door was unlocked. I went out there. Was about to wake up the neighbours/call 911/start screaming when I decided to pray and search again.  Found him tucked under Owen's quilt sound asleep.  A couple nights later at midnight Ryrie came to my bedside.  "Mom, George is in my bed and I can't sleep with him in there!" True enough, there he was, sound asleep in the middle of Ryrie's bed. The rest of the nights he just makes his way into my room.

George is at the age that we like to capture all our kids--an artist acquaintance of ours takes a photo I send and does it in pencil.  She does a great job, so my main stress is to choose the perfect picture.  Do you think I have a winner in here?  He is so difficult to photograph, and he's onto me now.  As soon as I sit him down somewhere and ask him to smile or show me all of his teeth or whatever, he gets goofy.  I tried to enlist the help of his brothers but they couldn't get him either.  It may be that we don't get one perfect picture this time around...

  1. I like the third one down and the little elfish grin (third from bottom) and the very bottom one. But I don't know which ones look like HIM the most. I cannot believe how grown-up he is. He's darling. I love his red hair so much!! I also love that he adds "for no reason!" (just so you realize the _seriousness_ of it!) when tattling on his brothers. Such a cutie.
