End of July and Beginning of August

This summer one of the bowling alleys in town offered a "kidsbowlfree" program.  We enjoyed three different times at the alley as a result.

Ryrie took to bowling the most.  He wanted so badly to win...

Willy got a strike on our first round!

Tommy has quite the throw--very strong.
We invited some friends the third time we went and that upped the anti by quite a bit.
George insisted on carrying it himself each time--did drop it quite a bit, and I stressed a lot about broken toes, etc.

It took about 2 minutes to make it down to the pins....

We spent a fun afternoon at our friends' farm.  The boys loved the slip and slide, snacks, double trampolines, and giant sand pit.

Filling the tub for the "Tsunami" wave that would wash them all down the hill.

Had to keep lots of sunscreen on this little peach all summer.  Had a couple of burns though.  :-(

This was the giant pit--makes our sandbox look like kitty litter!

Our Spencer Family reunion was at the end of July.  Everyone was there from the Spencers except Jane and family.  :-(  The boys had a great time with their cousins and got to know some extended family as well.  There were 3 talent shows, lots of games, painting of cars, kickball, ultimate frisbee (no running allowed--very funny), volleyball, eating, and of course...the slip and slide at Magrath Campsite is unbeatable.

Georgie captures Tressa and Emma whenever they come around.  Campbell got roped into some George activities this time too!  What great cousins the boys have!

The Brothers Spencer, concocting delicious homemade salsa for the reunion.

Superman emerges from the slip and slide

Another superman

This was the meal we served for our lunch--taco salad supreme.  Mmmmmm...

After the reunion we continued the fun at the Bennet's in Magrath.  The kids played until it got dark and then there were amazing fireworks, a bonfire with roasting of marshmallows, and games.  Those Bennets know how to party!

So I have spent so much time exploring with the boys on the other side of the river that I overlooked what we have on our own side!  This summer we've been twice to the wetlands on our side.  Its a pleasant little walk around a pond.  We saw some turtles the first time, and ducks and a beaver the second.  Supposedly there are spiders and waterbugs that eat fish, and painted turtles!  Hopefully as we explore it a bit more we can find them all.
