Ivory Strings

I play in a trio with two wonderful friends--Sarabeth Baldry and Karina Witbeck. When we moved to Raymond 8 1/2 years ago, Sarabeth had also just moved there with her family. Karina had been living there most of her life. We got together fairly soon after we moved in to play for something in town and soon after that we formed a trio and started playing for things in town and for a few weddings and other gigs around. We have planned and carried out 4 of our own concerts, our fourth one being this past weekend. We were blessed to be offered a wonderful home to play in with a huge room that can seat about 60 people, and there is a really beautiful grand piano which Kari appreciates! We had a really fun time preparing for this concert and we felt really ready for it. Between the three of us we have 14 children, so we overcame quite a lot of distractions to get together but it was a really fun reason to get together and we think people enjoyed it. I hope we have many more years together, and maybe some day we'll get organized enough to make a cd!
We played: Mozart, Piazzola, Albeniz, Bruch, Les' Mis', Bach, Faure, Debussy, Handel-Halvorsen, Popper, Shearing, and Kreisler. It was a great mix--we had some friends join us for piano and violin duets, which helped add some variety.
