The Honey King

Tommy's true birthday isn't for another 2 weeks, but because we won't be here for it, we decided he needed his party. This is the year for parties, it seems, and he wasn't going to let anyone forget his. Years ago Grandma Spencer gave us some materials for a Winnie the Pooh party and Tommy decided he wanted to use them for his party. I love Winnie the Pooh (everything about him except his name) and was thrilled to try my hand at this theme. We invited some friends from Raymond and a couple of new ones (next door neighbors on each side) and had a very fun time. James and the boys helped with coloring and cutting and Owen helped run the party. We had it in the morning when James was at work, and it wasn't too crazy, just kind of like a big joy school party.
We made a Hundred Acre Wood in the basement and had a treasure hunt for some honey. The honey was in the Bee Tree.

The children all decorated a treasure chest/honey pot.

We played musical chairs with some bees I drew on papers and the music was "What's in the Honeypot?", which was Tommy's choice. We did pin the tail on Eeyore (we just happen to have a mural in our bathroom here and used that Eeyore."

We ate cake--it turned out pretty cute!

Then we sent everyone home with a balloon, a honeypot, and "honey" treats. Tommy's smile was worth it all.
