Georgie's Loves

I had a funny experience with George the other day. When James comes home from work, he always gets a big hug and kiss and a cuddle from George. In fact, sometimes G won't let James put him down for quite a while. It is very sweet to see him welcome his dad home. When I come home from being gone, George usually welcomes me in a similar way. So the last time James got a cuddle from George, he looked over at me and said, "does he do this with you too?" I said confidently, "oh yeah, he does." When I came back from the grocery store the next day, it was pretty funny what G did. I walked in the door, and I could hear him getting excited and he ran over to meet me. I knew he would be hungry because it was after 12, and he also knew when he saw me that he needed something. He just wasn't sure what it was. He signed "nurse" then "more" then "eat" all in a row. I had to laugh at his confused message, but also couldn't help feeling how nice it is to be so depended upon and needed by someone so little. It made me feel like a nurturer to be greeted that way. :-)

  1. So sweet! I love feeling needed. I think I will miss it a lot when I have only bigger kids. (they may still technically need me, but they won't THINK they do!)
