All the snow we got finally became playable this week for about two days. Thomas, Owen and I went out in it one morning and made a snow caterpillar (I was too lazy to stack the balls vertically, so we went with horizontal), a snow cat and dog (Tommy insisted on these--they looked awful), and a tiny snow dragon (by Owen). It was so refreshing to emerge from my house to do something other than pile kids in a car, wrestle on their seat belts over thick coats and snow pants, and drive the car pool to and from school.
These other pictures are from my violin students' Christmas concert this week. Every year I have one at the Old Folks home so we can share some of our Christmas cheer, but I think we have outgrown the facility and we'll have to find a new place next time. It was really fun to have Will, Ry, and O join the forces this year. I guess I've been waiting for this moment for a lot of years. I don't know how long it will continue, but hopefully they'll humor me for a few years at least! They don't know fingers yet, so I wrote out an open string accompaniment to "Jingle Bells" and "Pat-a-Pan." It was very cute.
What on E.??! Those are ALL your students??! Are you a crazy woman? I am very impressed, though, and with your boyos, too. How fun to watch them all playing so sweetly and seriously!
