One of the things I love best about Tommy is his sense of humor. He finds joy in a lot of things. I love how he reacts when something tickles his funny bone. He usually makes a funny grin-face and says "HA!" (a blast of a laugh) and then starts to shake all over as he giggles. He is extremely fun to tickle, and he really gets a kick out of George. Yesterday Georgie was really making a mess of his dinner in the high chair and Tommy was standing close and watching me feed him. I started chanting something about "Dirty Man Dan, Dirty Man Dan, He lives in a garbage can" and Tommy got right into it and then wanted a variation that included the name "Tom" in it. When Nana and Grandpa called for his birthday and said, "Happy Birthday Tommy!" He informed them that he goes by Thomas now. Here are some pictures of our sweet preschooler on his big day!

And Many More, on Channel Four
Yesterday was Tommy's birthday. He's been waiting for his turn since October, so he was really ready! He loved being the center of attention. Today when he woke up he asked, "Is I'm still four?" He opened his presents at breakfast. He just ripped in with great abandon, which was pretty fun to see. James found him a castle tent and some fun "workers" and we got him a handmade Stegosaurus toque from a friend who sells them. I think he felt celebrated, but he did keep asking when he would have his cake. Since it was one of the busiest days I've had all year, the cake had to wait. At least he has something to look forward to, right?
