October Commences

October is one of the best months ever.  I love fall time, and this year we've had beautiful weather--for the most part--and not really many days yet where we needed to turn on the "warm hair" as George calls the furnace.  October means grapes and other garden harvest--a pumpkin, chard, still more herbs, green onions, and tomatoes:

October means General Conference!  Yay, what a great Conference this year.  The boys took the opportunity to make a wonderful Lego mess and sort all their Lego.

October means more beautiful walks out in nature:

Owen created this list of which stuffed animals get to sleep with him.  Each gets their own night.  Pretty cute, eh?
A beautiful, rainy day in Waterton.  I couldn't stop staring at the mountain--the lower half only because the top was in a cloud.

Ryrie and George were so cute on this Sunday walk to the coullees.  They held hands most of the way.
This is the latest craze for Will and Ry's age--I would never have guessed they would love this "Kendoma" (sp?) so much.  They play it constantly.
George has kept his habit of adding "ed" to everything or emphasizing it if its on a word.  It's so cute and endearing to hear him say, "Tommy kickd-ed me!"  I took him with me to be my recycling buddy and we had a major carload.  I was sorta dreading it, but he was just so excited to go.  When we got there he was thrilled that there were little sliding doors at just his level.  He kept saying, "is there more?" and I would say, "Oh yes, there's a LOT more."  He would respond, "YAY!  I love more!"  His energy and enthusiasm sure made it easier to complete the task!
I was listening to Tommy read a book about a glacier.  Every other sentence or so he would repeat what he had read in amazement.  Ie:"What!  Really!  A glacier is a river of ICE?"
The boys have been singing excerpts from Fiddler on the Roof at the funniest times.  Once, all three youngest ones jumped down from the table and started dancing with their arms up like Tevya does, singing "If I were a Rich Man."  George sings at the top of his lungs, "Trashiddon, Trashiddon!"  (sounds a little offensive at times.:-))  Another funny thing they do from Fiddler is clap their hands and stomp their feet and demand something.  In Fiddler, Tevya does that to get Golder to dance with him.  It's funny and a bit annoying when George claps his hands and stomps his foot and says, "Mom!  Get me a drink!"  :-)  Glad they like the classics!
